Blue Atlas Cedar

Blue Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca') is a striking, evergreen tree known for its silvery-blue needles and majestic stature. It is a variety of the Atlas cedar native to the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and Algeria. Typically reaching heights of 40 to 60 feet with a spread of 20 to 40 feet, the Blue Atlas cedar features a pyramidal shape, which becomes more open and spreading with age.

Its scent profile is distinctly woody, reminiscent of clean, crisp air with undercurrents of resinous balsam. The aroma is often described as calming and grounding, similar in essence to other cedarwood varieties but with a slightly sharper, more vibrant fragrance due to its blue-tinged needles. This scent is most pronounced in the resin and wood of the tree, making it a favored choice in aromatherapy and perfumery for its invigorating yet soothing characteristics.
